Vegetarian Weight Loss Plan


What do you think of this vegetarian Weight Loss plan?

I am 24 yrs old 123 on 5′1 and vegetarian and I want to lose 34 pounds, so how many pounds do you think I will lose with this plan until February?

I’m also 5′1 and weigh around 115lb. At my smallest I weighed 103lb and resembled skeletor lmao. I truly don’t understand why someone would want to endanger their health so severely, that they would want to drop down to such a small number.

Your daily meal plan doesn’t include enough calories for one, and even for weight loss. For general living and without weight loss the body needs between 1600-1700 calories a day. For a person and in our height group looking to lose, we need a bare minimum of 1200, but also depends on the exercise we are doing as to how much we eat. From the looks of the food you supplied on the other hand, you would be eating no more than 800 calories a day.

I’m extremely athletic. My weight fluctuates up and down by 6lb a month based on my every day activity levels and the food I eat. I run and do weight training anywhere from 2-5 days a week, plus work an extremely strenuous and physically demanding job. I guarantee you, if you do not eat enough and do the exercises you set problems can arise. For example; when I started my new job (which I commenced nearly two months ago) I started to suffer from memory loss and confusion. After looking at what I was eating when combined with my exercise and the new job, I found I was only eating HALF of what I needed. As soon as I upped intake to where I needed it – the confusion and memory loss disappeared and I was physically capable of doing the job given. The other exercises I did had to be toned down as I suffered unfavourable reactions to it – Heart palpitations, cold hands and feet from irregular hormone levels, and my muscles actually started to “waste away” as my body had started losing its muscle tissue instead of fat.

Any calorie deficit and you will lose weight. BUT that doesn’t mean you will lose what you exactly want. 800 calories a day is NOT enough, and when the body does not get enough fuel it starts burning muscle instead of fat away making you even more unhealthier as you have a higher fat percentage ratio than before.

Weight training wouldn’t improve your muscles even while on deficit, because if you aren’t eating to fuel your muscles to repair themselves and grow; then you will end up with no improvement at all. Up your intake to a 1200 bare minimum for a starter. Secondly, you aren’t eating enough of an allround diet. A smoothie for breakfast is fine, and so are salads. But you still need to include some other bits and pieces. One handful of nuts like cashews – Or a trail mix after the salad would work. Eating an apple for dinner is ridiculous (sorry, but it just is). If you want to watch what you eat at night, try instead by steaming as MANY vegetables as you like (except potato and corn which is starchy) – Like cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini and mushrooms and add tomatoes as a sauce base. One or two slices of wholegrain bread or wholegrain crackers on top would help you to regulate your blood sugar levels.

But all in all, you have to remember – That even if your calorie count is still in deficit, that if you stick to this your metabolism WILL slow down. It won’t speed up because you are literally starving it. As soon as you come off your Vegetarian diet and resume normal eating you will put the weight back on that you lost. Weight loss is about maintaining weight for life, not some fad diet that you are going to have for 5 seconds.
